Spore Eurorack Module
Our best selling pedal, the Spore circuit has been a pillar of all things Lateral for over 10 years now. It's as popular with producers and electronic musicians as it is with guitarists, so our friends at Elevator Sound in Bristol have been campaigning for a modular version…finally, here it is.
Spore is a 'hybrid' fuzz/overdrive/distortion offering hands-on control over 3 cascaded gain stages, each with their own flavour. A clean Op Amp boost circuit pushes a Germanium transistor which in turn hits a Silicon transistor. Then there's a (bypass-able) filter before the volume control. To add to the tone-sculpting potential the Bias and Spray controls act on the Germanium section, starving it of power, knocking it off-balance or setting it into self-oscillation. Spore is often at its best when functioning 'badly'.
We've added capacity for CV modulating the Push, Bias and Spray controls to really expand what's possible with the Spore. It can also (as it turns out) handle control voltages to further add to the potential for mangling whatever it is you're up to sonically.
