Custom Work

One of the most rewarding things we do is bringing people’s ideas to life for them. We’ve worked on some amazing projects over the years, some of which we’ve loved so much, they found their way onto our regular lineup.

Here are just a few examples of some of the one-offs and short run projects we’ve worked on recently.

Broot

Dedicated bass filth unit. Signal is split so that lows go through a Root-style smooth overdrive and highs through a silicon/germanium fuzz. A 3 band active EQ shapes the results and there’s a clean blend with it’s own dedicated Hi-Cut to retain the weight.

Fuel/Air

Essentially an analogue synth without a keyboard. Lots of oddball modulated noises. Fun to interact with and great to sample.

Hex

Tap-tempo, 16 step sequenced bitcrusher with illuminated controls. Fizzing glitchy robotic rhythms and clanging melodic sequences. Unique. Working on a smaller version do do a run of.

Ledge/Moar/Vlad Boost

2 gain stages and 2 tone controls. Preamp meets booster meets overdrive. Not necessarily built with guitars in mind - gives new life to drums etc.but can also seriously beef-up a single coil bridge pickup.

Optimus Primer

2 Primers in 1 box with FX loops and expression pedal inputs. Fat.

Auto Filter

Simple and cute tap-tempo low pass filter. Somewhere between a wah and a phaser.

Presence

Bastardised DS-1 distortion with a clean blend and active EQ.

Shank

Riffs mate. Collab in progress, the first half of something that’s geared towards low tuning and more than a slight nod to Matt Pike.

Tremor

Did not want to part with this one. Tap-tempo filter and tremolo that can be synched to run at different fractions of each other. Lost hours to this thing once it was finished. Built for bass but not really choosy.

Vortex

5/7 stage phaser, starting point was Peavey amp circuit Robert Smith used on early Cure albums. Cold and quite austere in some setting but very more-ish.
